Feminine Mixed Media Canvas

canvas 1

We have a fabulous new challenge at Stamps and Stencils this month, Think Pink!  Now, pink isn't my go to color, but I have to admit I had a blast creating this Prima product canvas.  My inspiration came from the many women around me that suffer from cancer and so many problems specific to us women.  The Lord says, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”  Joshua 1:9 NKJV.  We are not only capable of being strong women, but commanded to do so.  We can only do that when we encourage and uplift one another, and speak the truth in love.  I am so thankful for my blogging community and the many sisters I have found through sharing our art and lives.  THANK YOU!  You are loved!

canvas 2

I used my new Peony Prima spray ink along with some Finnabair texture stamps and a little splash of pan watercolor here and there for depth of color.  I used crackle paste through the Prima dots stencil to add some beautiful texture.

canvas 3

Some Art Stones with more spray ink over them, look at the pretty puddles...

canvas 4

I have been so thrilled to find that watercolor works beautifully on primed canvases.

canvas 5

I used a beautiful boxed Prima flower and Prima dies for my embellishments.  Distress Crayons helped to highlight the sentiment.

canvas 6

The leaf dies have been on my wish list for ages - they do not disappoint!  I enjoyed using some Prima paper from my stash to build my collage layers.

canvas 7

Finally, I dyed a strip of vintage lace with the Color Bloom spray.  It worked beautifully!

canvas 8

I'm entering these fab challenges:
(Pink and Purple are my least used colors and super feminine is not my normal style)

You really excel at these mixed media creations Autumn, I love to do them but always feel they end up lacking somewhere, clearly there is a real knack.

autumn, I'm not a "pink" person either, but now totally converted! This is my new favorite Autumn make--every detail speaks to me, those watery drips, the dyed vintage lace, the layers, and OH, those ART STONES! Am I ever green with envy! this is pink at it's finest and a wonderful composition, as ALWAYS! Big hugs! PS I love your message, too! Great inspiration!

Not if I get there first Sara Emily!!! Only joking...

Autumn, your message is both beautiful and uplifting! I just love the different pinks you have used (not being a pink person either), they all tone together so beautifully on your canvas, I am totally in love with the new art stones and you have used them in such a lovely way - those puddles look amazing. I really, really love this beautiful canvas! Hugs, Anne xx

Beautiful feminine canvas, Autumn! I especially like the pools of colors which are textured by the linen in your canvas! Pretty emboss-like buttons, and a great design tip to put the tag upside down behind the woman, representing how women always strive to do whatever is right, and work diligently at making situations and relationships turn out favorably. Gorgeous elements and design! Hugs, de

Love it when you have a pink project! You have so much going on in this and every project, yet they never look crowded or like a "hodge podge" when I try to do it! I hope you're not getting tired of seeing my comments since I'm playing catch up! Beautiful, Autumn, and I love the picture on your canvas.

The fact that you don't use these colors often, does not show here: it turned out beautiful! As long Christ is strong in us, we are strong. Sometimes it's better to not be strong in own person, but through Christ we can manage a LOT.
