Graphic Stamping and Watercolored Paper Piecing

card 1

I made this funky graphic card from sheer play, one thing leading to the next.  My purpose was to use paper piecing and though that transformed into pieced paper piecing, I am happy with the result.

card 2

To fill in some of the gaps, I stamped this adorable heart stamp from Lynne Perrella for PaperArtsy.

card 3

The background is embossed in Adirondack cranberry embossing powder.  My mom had a dozen of the colors in her collection - happy me!  This color is different than the ink pad, more pink, but beautiful nonetheless.

One Minute Process Video

I created a tiny flip through of the steps that led me to this card, which are also the steps for the circle chipboards pieces in my journal page post HERE.  Let me know if you find this helpful or have tips on making better videos.

A lovely fusion on summery colours Autumn.

Just to explain lack of visits for the next few weeks, being 'sent' to Italy to stay with an old school friend to recoup a little ahead of our holiday later in the month.

Wow! Great design, Autumn! I love your "pieced" paper piecing, and the description therein, emerging from what you call "pure play". What would we do without our hobbies? Your mixed media designs always speak to me because of the designs - they usually are themed, with the colors bring the message of hope or love to the attention of the viewer! Thanks for sharing today! I hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend! hugs, de

I love that you used the phrase "sheer play" because that's exactly what I thought of when I saw this stunner. This looks like joy on a piece of cardstock. Love all the layering, love the depth of color, love the grunge. <3 <3 <3

You've mastered a style of stamping that is really very difficult for many of us. It certainly is for me. Your composition is perfect and the bold, graphic images look even better paired with the pretty blended colors in your background.
