Coffee Filter Flower Verve Stamped Birthday Card

My sweet friend, Bonnie, told me she had been making flowers from clean ink dyed coffee filters and I asked her had she used any that had coffee brewed in them and she said no.  Immediately we dumped come grinds from a filter and washed it off.  It dried super quickly.  I took it home and folded it in layers and cut it with a circle die.  I then made a pom pom like you would make for party decorations, with the top layer being cut from the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die.  The result was variegated shades of coffee stain and a puffy little flower, perfect to replace the circle element in the week 1 September sketch from Viva la Verve.

The rhinestone brad is from Hobby Lobby.  The more you scrunch up these types of flowers, the better!
I'm trying to make a lot of birthday cards, so I used this beautiful little Verve happy birthday stamp.  I layered it over a TH die, papers and the arrow washi tape.
The cool thing about this flower is that it will flatten easily so the card can go inside an envelope, but also easily fluff back up.
I'm linking up to VLV for September Week 2 HERE and to Verve Stamps for the Autumn Lovlies Inspiration Challenge HERE.  Also to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, Stamp and a Die, HERE, and to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday STAMPtember Use a Stamp Challenge HERE.
