Today I have a bright, happy card to share with you. I created the card to showcase how beautifully Gracielle's digital stamps blend with traditional stamping in mixed media. Today I paired this fabulous sentiment from the New Beginnings set with my IndigoBlu stamps. I only have a few of these and just found out about the stamp company, but I love the challenge of creating multiple projects with the same stamps. I am trying desperately to win some more by entering their challenges. And speaking of winning, why not head over to my comment HERE for a chance to win one of Gracie's digital stamp sets?
I started by stamping the background flourish in white to create a resist effect for my watercolor. For some reason I was itching to use this new Tim Holtz thinlet die and added it as well, what a busy background! But I can do nothing less...
Next I created a 3D handmade flower by stamping the flower three times in Worn Lipstick spritzed lightly with water before stamping. I cut apart the individual petals as best as possible, then curled them backwards. Last, I stamped the leaves in the same manner and cut them out. I hope these two posts have inspired you to make some flowers and keep your mind open to new ideas with mixed media, after all - isn't that the fun of it? Make sure to show Gracie some love at her blog HERE, and why not enter the IndigoBlu challenge HERE. Thanks for looking! <3
I also want to play with these fabulous challenges:
just stunning! love how you've done the centre of the flower too, and the background, debi x

ReplyDeleteHi Autumn! Your flower on that lovely card is absolutely gorgeous. I love your dimension and the way you've colorized it. That pink just pops on that lovely green and white background. I also wanted to thank you for the nice comment you left me. You're so sweet.
ReplyDeleteOh, so pretty... each and EVERY layer and embellishment! This is so bright and full of life, Autumn! Just stunning!
ReplyDeleteAnother stunner! Love the effect you've gotten on the petals of this lovely flower. The striations of color look so very realistic, more so than if you'd just tried to 'color them' after die cutting. Also loving the way you did the resist flourish, then the splatters of green shades. Really lovely, Autumn, and good luck with winning more of the stamps. Like your new photo too! TFS & Hugs

ReplyDeleteAutumn, another beautiful card! I do love how you're using the Gracielle's digi stamps and giving so much dimension to the flowers...I do need to get some of those! I love your background, as I do all of your backgrounds. You have such a way with colors and textures...so inspirational! I, too, love the Indigoblu stamps and like you, only have a few. I initially got them to use with their gilding flakes - have you tried those? Messy, but fun, and oh so pretty!
