Rustic Woodland Nights Card for 12 Tags of Christmas

I have been anxiously awaiting the start of The Funkie Junkie's 12 Tags of Christmas!  This year is Linda's 5th anniversary hostessing the challenge and I am so thankful!  I absolutely love her kickoff tag.  This year I decided to do cards instead of tags so I could build up my stash.  Like Linda, I created an inky background with Walnut Stain, Vintage Photo and Frayed Burlap.  I used an old Penny Black stamp for the music.

I don't have any Inka Gold or Treasure Gold so I mixed together gold embossing paste with opaque embossing paste and a bit of vintage glitter and spread it through my IndigoBlu star stencil.  The result was almost like a crackle paste!  Strange!  But I liked it nonetheless.  I don't have the new treeline die, but do have this old version and I love it.  I too used black for my trees.  Find your treeline die at The Funkie Junkie Boutique, link below.  I added splashes of Color Bloom spray in gold.

I found this amazing stamp (maker unknown) in my mom's stash.  O Holy Night is my favorite Christmas song EVER!!!  Actually, I found this version by Weezer back in the day before I came to Christ and was overwhelmingly taken by the beauty of God's great gift to us and was saved some time later.  Their rendition is still so special to me.  I've embedded if you want to view, but be warned it ROCKS!!!

  1. What a glorious card, Autumn! Love your background and those textured stars are amazing! All of it is truly beautiful :-) I have also been waiting for this challenge since I discovered it too late last year...also made a card this weekend but not happy with it :-( so back to drawing board. What a nice surprise to find Christmas music in your post - O Holy Night is also my favorite.

  3. What a lovely tag, Autumn! Well, it looks like a card, but I am going by your title LOL - lovely textures in your stars, and an ingenious use of the products on hand to make something unique! Your splatters on each layer are the perfect touch of artwork imitating golden snowfall. Thanks for the close up of the layers, too! Beautiful artwork! sigh - and lovely song. hugs, de

  4. Well, how embarrassing! I went back to reread your post to learn more about how things were put together (my memory is so poor!), and low and behold, it IS a card! Am I ever embarrassed! LOL Your stars are so dimensional, that I thought they were die cut or punched, then I remembered they were a stencil, but so cleanly done are they, I marveled some more, and scrutinized intently LOL REALLY great texture and thickness, Autumn. Thanks for sharing your beautiful creation, and for once again, sharing all the experimentations performed during your process. hugs, de

  12. This is the just stunning. It evokes a sense of awe and reverence for me, reminding me of the time during the War, when German and allied soldiers had a cease fire around Christmas time, because someone started singing Silent Night. I know your says Oh Holy Night, but that is one of my faves as well. Thanks for this little bit of beauty in a troubled world. :D
