I trust that you are having a lovely October day. I am full speed ahead into Christmas crafting, with inspiration from the 12 Tags of Christmas, hostessed by The Funkie Junkie! I did not make a September Tim's tag because I don't have any Yupo and I started not to make an October tag because I don't care for Halloween - UNTIL the idea to do a metallic snowflake popped into my brain. And the rest is crafting history...
I picked out some of my favorite grungy winter papers and made my patchwork. I used the grey Distress Crayon for my edges, which turned out beautifully.
For my snowflake, I adhered tin foil to cardstock with Mod Podge. I picked up several Tim Holtz dies this summer on clearance and had forgotten all about them! I was pleasantly surprised to find this one and the deer one in my stash when I was rearranging the other week. Woot woot! I just grabbed thew new thinlet snowflake set this weekend and decided to use a solid snowflake for my layering. I splashed some white gesso to complete the snowy look.
I'm sharing with:

WOW what a FANTASTIC tag Autumn! And I agree with Brenda ... brrrr! lol great job!
ReplyDeleteFantastic, Autumn!
ReplyDeleteGosh, Autumn, I am speechless! (yikes! how did you do that? ... make me speechless, that is). GORGEOUS! Those metallic details are incredible. Some artists have the ability of combining Nature's beauty with man-made products (like these metals in your masterpiece). You are one of those people - your artwork always reminds me that Nature gives us a 2nd chance if we listen to her, and that we humans are a part of nature in every way! Really fantastic creation, my friend! Thanks for the inspiration. hugs, de

ReplyDeleteGosh what an adorable winter tag, love the stunning show piece. Thanks also on your comment on my shaker card. My inner bits cling to the acetate for starters, think it's something in the acetate. When placing my image it basically just 'stuck' to it but hence I still had to glue it down. I live in Australia, north of Sydney so our weather is usually gorgeous, lots of rain last two days, but sitting under the alfresco was lovely to craft...chat soon..xx{aNNie}
