Y'all know that since I've only been blogging about a year and a half now that I'm new to Tim's tag challenges, well relatively new. Somehow I have never EVER seen the rub-on resist technique before. And it is so so cool!!!
I am NOT a colorista, sadly. I'm just not, so I used this sweet image from my new pack of Tim's cabinet cards. I added a 7Dots sticker and a Tim "smile" die to it.
The very very dark background really showed the resist well, which I do like.
I picked up the tiny wood stars recently and thought they were the perfect texture accent. And there you have it, my total "failure" of a take on Tim's beautiful fall remix.... LOL!
I'm sharing with:
The pink one was great too!!! LOL! LOVE the photo addition, and love the darker toned background...so inspirational!
ReplyDeleteThey really are quite addictive Autumn! I have been doing them since March 2012 so I am well and truly hooked. Your art and blog are so professional, it is hard to believe you have been blogging for such a short time. Love your gorgeous tag! The image is adorable and the background you created is fabulous - as always! Hugs, Anne xx

This turned out fabulous! We all have those woulda, coulda, shoulda projects- but that's what makes us grow! I love it!! <3
ReplyDeleteI love that photo you added, I love your beautifully done background, I love those little stars, I love everything about this amazing tag, Autumn! The rub-on resist technique turned out brilliantly! It's stunning, my friend! Big hugs! Branka xx
ReplyDeleteAutumn if you had not told us, I would have thought you background was intentional - it is fabulous!! the red/pink showing through the dark is wonderful and has a sort of "outer space" look. A fascinating tag that I think is awesome

ReplyDeleteSuperbe bravoooooo
Autumn, I really like the way your background turned out. It might not be what you were intending, but it makes me thing of a dark, snowy night during Christmas time maybe just after a parade, driving around looking at the colored lights. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tags, love the picture, so sweet and retro looking....
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing with us at CraftyCatz this week.x
A beautiful vintage tag, thanks for joining us at Crafty Catz this week, Jac x
ReplyDeleteIt certainly doesn't look like a failure! It's gorgeous Autumn! xx
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love this tag!
ReplyDeletewow wow wow - this is beautiful - love it! Thanks so much for joining us at countryview challenges! Hugs rachel x
ReplyDeleteOh my, I DO like your failure! I enjoyed reading your adventures with this tag, and was with you each step of the way, saying "Oh yeah, I do that too". But actually the final coloration on the background is quite effective with the b&w shades of the other goodies you've tucked on this pretty tag. I'd be very proud if my failures were this awesome. So your lemonade turned out very sweet indeed, and bet you learned a lot along the way. TFS & Hugs (I enjoy reading about the trials and how somebody saved the day..it's inspiring!)
ReplyDeleteWow - love your adventure and your wonderful tag!! I have missed visiting! Hugz
ReplyDeleteDefinitely NOT a failure. This is very cool, Autumn! Tim's challenges are always so cool-- he has something to offer to everyone, every month, regardless of experience or mastery of papercrafting... and often we learn from our "failures"-- too bad there is not enough time to re-create some of the projects that turned on us... alas, we are moms...
ReplyDeleteGreat save, Autumn! I have to say you run an amazing lemonade stand, and I'll have to take two! GORGEOUS background, and I happen to love how it turned out-so rich and shows off those rubs so well! Great take and a WINNER! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteOh, Autumn, what I wouldn't give to come up with a "failure" like yours! I know how you feel, reading this blog post was like reading one of mine - LOL, but not typical of you. Although I do like the pink version, I really do like how the pink shows up through your vintage photo - it kind of looks like a night sky kind of background, which is so cool! Your card is a great choice, along with embellishments. Awesome tag, Autumn! Hugs :-)
ReplyDeleteWow!! Your tag is amazing!! Very cool details!! :) HUGS
ReplyDeleteWell the new pinked up and grunged up background isn't bad at all, just different. I think Tim would love it! An for all it's worth, I like it very much. Thanks for linking up to our Star challenge at Country View this month.
ReplyDeleteOhh its lovely... Thanks for playing along Brown Sugar Challenge blog. Hope to see you again.

10/10 for persistence, you created something wonderful in the end. Just proves one should not toss things in the bin as the first set back. Lovely work.
ReplyDeleteI have done some things that I thought I would throw the thing out. I've had to let some sit for at least a week or so and then I see it as a brand new card with fresh eyes and say, oh, that's quite nice. It just wasn't what you were going for when you were working on it. However, when I or anyone else commenting on this tag sees it, they see gorgeous textures and colors and design. So do I ! ! !
ReplyDeleteSo glad you joined us at Morgan's Artworld.
Autumn, yes, I loved the first one as well, but you used your lemons wisely and your lemonade aka tag came out beautifully! heehee Really beautiful! xx
