Truly, the 12 Tags of Christmas challenge is my favorite of the year because I have so many opportunities to stretch my creativity when I don't have the products Linda uses. This tag was no exception. I was most thrilled about Linda's gorgeous pine needle background on her invitation. I made my inky background with Distress Inks, then stamped over with the new pine needle stamp from the Woodland Scribbles set.
Rather than spray Perfect Pearls mist onto my card, I sprayed my craft mat and dipped my inky panel. What a gorgeous marbled result this yields! Love it!
Since I don't have the chalkboard sentiment set, I decided to use this Crafter's Companion die and layer over the ornament die. A perfect fit. I dipped the black ornament into Perfect Pearls mist too to help it tie in. I layered over an embossed shape die and tucked my pine needle dies behind a green/gold organza bow. It is what it is, but much prettier in person. Make sure to check out the Funkie Junkie Boutique for all of the new products Linda used, which are in her store at a great daily discount.

BEAUTIFUL!!!!
ReplyDeleteStunning! Love the dark green with the sparkle of the PP. It gives a muted gleam to this background, and tucking in the die branches behind this beautiful ornament, pulled this design together in perfection! I think this might be one of my all time favs that you've shared. I always like better when the crafter didn't use all the products of the artist, but added her own designs. Much prettier, always!!! TFS & Hugs

ReplyDeleteGorgeous pine background, the shimmer is lovely. A great take on one of my favourite's of Linda's tags this year. I've just posted my first, so now need to do 12 tags in 12 days... I'm hoping it will get me back in the swing of things after so many months away from my craft room.

Autumn, this is one of my favorites of yours this season! You made the most amazing background using that pine from the scribbles set. I only used mine for the first time yesterday, and I'm kicking myself for not pressing it into use sooner! The black bauble looks so elegant with the gold and the entire design is genius! Love it!
