Happy Monday my lovely friends. <3 Today I am sharing a CAS card for the current Power Poppy challenge, Frame It Up! My mother had quite the stash of PSX floral stamps from back in the day, so I raided that drawer and found this beauty. I decided to try no line watercolor, only with Prismacolor pencils instead. I really like the effect!
I inked the greenery with Pistachio Distress Ink and the blossom with Abandoned Coral DI, then went about coloring until I was pleased. I never thought I would get into coloring, but I admit that once I begin building layers and the depth begins to form with the colors I get very caught up into it. The curls in the petals were a challenge, but I was pleased that I kept some highlights after all. I had intended on keeping the background stark white as I am trying to do CAS cards, but I couldn't help myself and dipped the colored panel into Antique Linen DI, then did some over stamping in Frayed Burlap. I am what I am ok! :) I used an I/O sentiment and button/twine to finish it off, framing with a Tim Holtz postage die by Sizzix. I had to sponge it a little to go with the grunge effect I had created. I hope you like it!

ReplyDeleteWOW! Autumn, your talent knows no end, and your no-line coloring is exquisite! I would not have known it was your coloring had I not read it. It looks like a beautiful piece of DP. It's amazing, and I'm with Donna...if you ever want to part with any PSX stamps, keep me in mind. It's one of the very few companies that I am so sorry no longer makes their stamps. Beautifully finished with the lovely postage stamp die. I love it! Hugs, sweet friend!

ReplyDeleteA gorgeous card, beautifully photographed on the hessian. Love the postage stamp mat and you colouring is superb. Like it? - I love it!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the way you have done your no line colouring Autumn, there is such gorgeous depth to it and I really like the way you mounted it on the postage die, it really suits it somehow, - the little bit of "grunge" you added worked brilliantly, CAS with just a little twist to it. Now you really have me wondering what PSX stamps are, - this one is so gorgeous!! Lucky to have a mum who has a drawer like that!
ReplyDeleteOh sooooooooooooooo BEAUTIFUL. Haven't had prismacolors out for a long time but now... you have once again... inspired!!! This looks like you do it every day Autumn...the colors are PERFECTION. Love the script. It's just a DELIGHTFUL creation.

ReplyDeleteHi Autumn how special to use one of your mothers PSX stamps for this Mother's Day card. I have some rather nice PSX ones being neglected from 1990s when first into Stamping need to join you in this. Love this image thought at first you'd used a new PB one rather like it.. have prismas and I too find them addictive to use.
ReplyDeleteLove this creation, well done in your high skill level.
Thanks for sharing your inspiration!
