It's time for a new Anything Goes challenge at Scrapy Land! You can make anything to your heart's delight as long as it contains a die cut brand Scrapy Land sells. I decided it was high time to put to use the Sizzix Paper-Cut Bird die Tim sent me for my Creativation projects. This die is AMAZING and I haven't used it nearly often enough.
I went about dipping and redipping and finger painting the cutout with Distress Ink until I was happy with my coloration. I used Cracked Pistachio, Shabby Shutters, Chipped Sapphire and Pumice Stone.
I inked made a frame and inked it with the greens, then added tissue tape all around it.
I chose this darling Paper Doll/Found Relative. I was thinking of childhood wander and playing in the woods. I decided to give him some "fairy wings" with the new Mini Detailed Butterflies by Sizzix. I embossed the wings in Cobalt Tapestry EP by PSX, then cut the backing die with vellum to help it stand out from the busy background die.
I dyed a bow to match and topped it with a leftover handmade paper flower from my tutorial HERE. The flower was made with the medium sized Tattered Florals die cut also by Sizzix. The stamen are by Wilton and are sold in the cake making section of hobby shops.
I bumped the background die up onto a sheet of Tim's Memoranda patterned paper. There is a bit of dimension, but mostly with the flower. All in all, I had a blast making this very busy mixed media card! I hope you like it and are inspired to break out your dies for our challenge. OK, can I have two new favorites in one day???! Pretty please? This is so durn beautiful, I just want to sit and stare! Of course, those colors are my FAVORITE and if I had that die, I'm sure everyone would be getting tired of seeing it. You have used it to perfection--love the deign popped up over the geometric paper, and your butterfly wings are genius (great idea to back with vellum--another steal worthy tip!)
