Happy summer day to you! It's time for a new challenge at Stamps and Stencils. Our hostess Ruth has chosen the theme Colour, Texture, Shape. She says, "This month it's almost anything goes as I have a picture inspiration board for you.
I decided to use the moodboard as a jumping off point for my color scheme and gessoed some panels in my Darkroom Door junk journal. I used Lindy's Stamp Gang and Prima Color Bloom sprays. I spritzed the spray with water to make it bleed. The Color Bloom started to separate when I used my heat tool and created this lovely mottled look. From that I decided to do a beach themed layout. I stamped the new Mini Calendar randomly in Archival Tree Branch ink to build a background.
I embossed the new Seven Days stamp in white. I used a pen to circle Saturday.
I stamped an Darkroom Door advertisement stamp in Archival Coffee for further color variation and added some tissue tape here and there.
I used Tim Holtz ephemera and found relatives for my collage.
The Ornate Frame 2 die was covered in texture paste and aged with Distress Ink. I added a silicon molded lace bit made Esther at Shoregirl's Creations (thanks sweetie!) because it really tied back into the moodboard. I added lots of splashed gesso and ink.
To finish things off I added a Prima Marketing Salome Flower from the Wild and Free collection, with a string bundle beneath and a die cut Tim Holtz Scroll, which I embossed in Ginger EP. I really love this refreshing color palette! I hope you are inspired to add some color and texture to your project and play along in our challenge. Thanks for visiting!

ReplyDeleteLet me count the ways I love this journal spread! First, the colors are just dreamy, and now I think I must invest in some sprays! Although the mottling looks beautiful on your page, it reminds me of the way my tomatoes are looking, which is NOT a good thing! Love all the background stamping, and of course your collage gets my heart going pitty-pat! But the frosting on the cake is that silicone molded lace bit! What a stunning set of pages, sweetie! You're a creative genius! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteFabulous page Autumn, love the textures and layout.
