I had in mind to do a rustic card with a plaid background as pictured in the first photo. I saw THIS beautiful tag and just had to do a similar background. I got carried away and used blues. I softly inked my background with Chipped Sapphire, then did 2nd generation stamping and 1st generation stamping of this very old Stampin' Up! Christmas tree image. Then I taped the edges (heavier at the bottom) with my Versamark pad and embossed in white to give a snowy edge. I applied texture paste through my DIY holey stencil then sprinkled with IndigoBlu Unicorn Sparkle glitter.
I was going to layer the scene onto plaid. Well that didn't quite match, so I ended up making two different cards. I stained my deer die cut with Chipped Sapphire DI and then clear embossed. Isn't he lovely? I won from the Coffee Lovers Blog hop. :) I curled the stamped sentiment banner and mounted it over the panel with a simple navy mat.
I was still wanting to do something with the plaid, so I made a lightly inked Frayed Burlap panel and did the same process of stamping on it.
I used Frayed Burlap and Vintage Photo on the sentiment banner and deer. I made the plaid by sponging my panel with FB, then using an Echo Park plaid stencil and sponging with Chipped Sapphire. Oh I love this stencil!!!

Still 90 degrees in your neck of the woods! Gosh, that's hot for Autumn. We are enjoying some balmy Spring days here and hoping the blistering days of Summer are a long way off. Both your cards are lovely and I especially like the blue plaid one, as blue is my favourite colour.
