I am NOT a fan of Halloween, so I used the color combo challenge to create a purple and orange Clemson University graduation card. Go tigers! I stained my seam binding and doily die with Dried Marigold and layered over a white embossed black background. I added a few purple flowers from my stash and the new Prima Amber Moon flowers.
A simple stamped sentiment strip and some glittery die cut accents complete the look. I hope you'll be inspired to play along with our current challenge for a chance to win a $25 giftcard to the Funkie Junkie Boutique.

ReplyDeleteGreat card! Fantastic use of green, purple and orange in a non-Halloween theme.
ReplyDeleteAutumn, I knew you were not a fan of Halloween in the least, so I knew you (and others) would appreciate the color challenge, and you did an outstanding job with it! I love that white embossed background layered with all those beautiful flowers and those glittery touches! Way to rock the challenge! Sending great big hugs! Go Tigers! PS I love your (maybe not so) new header--very professional! Can you help me with mine? :):)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous and perfectly shabby card. I love the colour combo and how nice that they are college colours so you could make something with meaning since it isn't a Halloween card. Lucky the recipient.
ReplyDeleteHugs!

We don't "do" Halloween here in Australia and I like your alternative take on the challenge. Gorgeous layering and who knew that a pop of purple would work so well with the Orange, Peach and Apricot tones. Lovely work.

Oh I absolutely love the layers Autumn and as a Clemson alum, I am over the moon with these colors. Go Tigers!!!!! Stunning card -- Mary Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteThat is such a sweet, feminine card, I love the way you combined the Ambermoon flowers with the Tim Holtz doily! (Was it a pain to get rid of all the little pieces after die cutting it? It looks like, if it was, it was totally worth the effort, because it looks GREAT!!!) How sweet of you to make this as a graduate card! I always say, the GIFT IS THE CARD when so much effort goes into it like this! Great job!! BTW, I used to work in Japan and met with a team of people from Clemson University! Lots of school spirit there!
