Hi sweet friends! I'm back today with a couple more tags made for the Funkie Junkie's 12 Tags of Christmas challenge. These tags are so very Christmas with the traditional colors and imagery and I'm loving it! I absolutely loved Linda's Tag 3. I was inspired by everything she did, particularly the candycane stripe and crepe fringe.
I decided to do a partial stenciling of the candycane. I taped my stencil onto half of my tag, then tapped with my Versamark pad and embossed with red EP.
I was happy to use some of Tim's new glitter tape to cover the seam.
I embossed the open side of my tag with the Tim Holtz Tiny Dots EF. Since it didn't go all the way down, I used the new Christmas Quote Chip to cover the bottom half and mixed the text with a Metallic Holiday Small Talk sentiment to complete the phrase.
I carefully crinkled the crepe fringe and glued it to the bottom. The snowflake was die cut from glitterstock and glued to a second cut from watercolor paper to make a hefty embellishment. I added some twine and a tiny bell for my topper.
I truly love the bright crispness of this tag and all of the fun elements put together.
Tag 4 was the tag that was hardest for me. I was so happy to have the Victorian Carolers die, but I couldn't decide on a background. I really wanted to bring green into my tag color mix... In the end (after making three inky backgrounds that didn't work out...) I opted for Tim's holiday paper from 2016. I just love the plaid! Once I decided on that, the rest worked out easily.
I stamped this very old, but oh so wonderful hymn stamp onto inky paper and curled the distressed edges. I cut my carolers from chipboard and sanded the edges.
I embossed the wish die in red and made a second cut from black for a shadow. I used one of my failed backgrounds to cut the greenery. I cut a tag from the paper pad and stamped a postage stamp onto it and tucked it beneath my layers. I added a green bow to get my fix and some twine holding a Christmas Typepad Token charm.
I'm sharing with:

Bright, festive and oh so cheery. It's beginning to look like I'm so far behind in my Christmas creating!!!
ReplyDeleteAlways inspiring to pop in here though.
This is what stamping and paper crafting is all about. Incredible! Ohhh, those carolers! The "wish" die is perfect with them, but that's hardly enough to say about the beauty of your tags.
ReplyDeleteLove both of these! The mix of textures on the first is awesome and the dimension on the second is so great,
ReplyDeleteThank you for playing along at Crafty Sentiments Designs for our Winter challenge.
Ooh, more red - I'm in heaven here :) Great work again Autumn. You always have so many wonderful details. Besides all the red on #3, I really like the crisp black and white of the twine. And the plaid on #4 is absolutely wonderful. The bright red WISH is perfect, especially like the shadow of black behind it. Great to have you back with me for #3 and #4!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Linda
