Do you ever stumble across something on Pinterest that just wows ya? You know, just the idea you needed at that exact moment? Well, I found THIS pin with an amazing technique for "tarnished foil" last weekend. It definitely had my eyes popping with delight and curiosity. Then, as those happy coincidences go, I came across this amazing pack of two embossing folders at Tuesday Morning and knew they would be perfect for the technique. Yay! Happy score!
I switched it up a little and added in Watering Can EP and brass EP, in hopes for a little grungier color.
I also went back in and sanded over some of the raised places through the embossing where there needed to be more color variation. And of course, gave the edges a good distressing. I even tucked in some tiny die cut gears for fun.
I made a little bundle of manly goodness with my various Tim Holtz ephemera.
Of course, it is hard to photograph anything reflective... I wish you could see them in person!
I must say I did one panel in silver Metallic Kraft Core and the other in gold. You can hardly tell which is which after the embossing.
Ahhh, yummy texture!
The tags are scraps of DOX backgrounds I make by the trailers full. Ha! I stamped the text from the Victorian stamp set and cut them into tags. I hope you like these and this post gets your wheels a turning. Have fun!

Awesome man cards Autumn, it's a great way to use up foil card in your stash that we all have no idea what to do with. The EP works fabulous with those raised areas and I love your peeping cogs. I just love my visits here..
