I am so happy to be a part of Graciellie Design’s Digital
Stamps blog hop today. Gracie’s stamps are so versatile and artistically designed. Trust me when I say you will want to inspect her shop thoroughly! Today I'm sharing a couple of dimensional cards I made using one of her new sets called Dear Friend. It is dreamy!
For my first card I did an embossing resist with Distress Inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, and Evergreen Bough. I always love a balance of white, black, and color on a project.
I just adore the beautiful sentiments in this collection. Here I created a little pennant, with distressed edges. What a beautiful Mother's Day verse!
The best thing about working with these digital images was the ability to print several flowers in the same size and have them turn out perfectly. I cut out layer upon layer of petals and created a "Jolee" style embellishment from each flower.
Splashes of watery white gesso and some white jute help balance the color.
I colored the flowers with Twinkling H2Os. They are exquisite in person, but the shimmer was hard to capture in the photos. The flat background and shimmery flowers have a great contrast.
For my second card I also did an embossing resist. This color came entirely from pan watercolors. It is a little darker than I had hoped for. Let's just say a new palette is on the wish list! But the colors remind me of spring and pansies blooming!
I had so much fun cutting and curling each petal and love the dimension!
