I'm so excited to share my latest mixed media spread with you today! It makes it so much more exciting to me because I made this entire album with my own two hands! If you missed my tutorial HERE, do check it out.
Boy do I love some chunky pages. The fact that I can go wild with my layering sets my crafty heart to pitter patter! <3
My theme for this book is blue and green. I chose this precious couple. It's so strange to look back after 17 years of marriage and remember the wild and crazy kids we once were. This couple looks like they are off to a good start, but they could never know the ride that was in store for them... I layered them over some of my favorite vintage ephemera from my friend Barbara. The lacy floral layer is a favorite Heidi Swap product that I found at Joann's.
My background was painted with acrylic paint, then stenciled with a Prima stencil and covered with Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays. I used this hoarded Prima flower and Tim's new Quote Chips. The ticket is stamped.
I used DOX for my stamping and it created great chalky spots on my pages. I also rubbed some DOX onto my acrylic block and sprayed it with water, swished it with my finger and stamped the ink puddles randomly for more chalky patches.
The butterflies are part of Tim's new Idology. These cutouts are so fun and easy to use!
I cut the HS flower cutouts into sections and applied to the corners as well. All of these pieces came from one sheet of this stuff and you get 12 sheets in a pack for about $5. :)
You can see that my binding string was stained in the process too! I love that. I hope you enjoyed this tour of my first pages. Thanks for your visit today!
I'm sharing with:
I love your theme for this book and your couple - can't wait to see what comes their way! Love all of your textures and those HS flowers are gorgeous and such a pretty addition. Looking forward to seeing more - hugs!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! These blue and green pages are going to be a hard act to follow! I love this couple and the story the ephemera tells. Such a clever layout and backed with the most beautiful textured and colored pages. The left page reminds me of a water colored meadow, so ethereal yet dark and mysterious at the same time. Make sense? Love this to bits, Autumn! You did well! Hugs!
