Hiya friends! I hope you had a chance to see my foiling tutorial and cards at Frilly and Funkie this weekend. If not, make sure to hop on over HERE for a closer look.
Today's card was just a bit of wild play with some favorite Tim Holtz products. I started with an inky background panel I made with Sara Emily at the lake. This one was inked with Frayed Burlap DI and Fossilized Amber DOX. I stamped the ledger in Walnut Stain DOX and the leaves from Tim's new Botanical stamp in Fossilized Amber, then sponged the edges of the panel with Vintage Photo DOX.
I fussy cut the Garden Illustrations image, which I had embossed in Watering Can, then watercolored it with a variety of DIs. I inked up a little tag and stamped it with an older stamp from Tim's Floral Tattoo set (an all time favorite). I used Fossilized Amber to stamp and spritzed the rubber before making the impression. I love the effect it gives!
I added lots of messy stitching with my machine. I have finally got my machine settings figured out to work on paper consistantly. The trick for me is using a longer stitch length. And definitely sew a single layer of paper at a time.
I used Tim's numbers over layers of tissue tape. Oh I love these!
Now, most of these stamps belong to SE and I used them while I was with her. And neither of us have the new Entomology set. So I dug through my stash of vintage wood mounted stamps and found this little beauty. I die cut the honeycomb from the MM thinlets to coordinate with him.
All these years I didn't realize there was a small talk set that wasn't for holidays - doh! I just picked up the small talk sentiments and love them so much, especially this phrase. I really needed this reminder and hope you did too and will be encouraged. Just remember, we're not there yet, but at least we're on our way...

Very impressive visually and I love the sentiment!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful display of how you can still layer without adding too much bulk. I do love examining your techniques up close Autumn as you give us such treats to discover. The Flowers have been given just the right amount of colour to make them blend in with everything else around them and the stitching holds it all together so creatively. Powerful but true words to start each wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing dear.
Big Hugs Tracey xx
