Tim Holtz Dress Form Stamp Vintage Card and GIVEAWAY winner!

Hi again!  I'm back today with another Tim Holtz card I made with the many background pieces I worked on while at the lake with my bud Sara Emily.  Sara had tons of Tim's new stamps and shared them so generously with me.  I made this one particular background that I just loved so much.  It is the one in the upper right hand corner (that I mostly covered up).  I inked my panel with Frayed Burlap DI, then dipped in Antique Mahogany Distress Oxide.  This is my favorite new color of DOX!  It is just red enough and just brown enough and I love it so!  I embossed Tim's new Batik stamp over it in gold.

I dug and dug through my Tim Holtz paper pads and finally found a tiny section with some pink on it!  LOL!  I guess pink isn't Tim's favorite color, lol!  But I had pink and brown in mind and was determined!  I layered with a few buttons and a handmade flower.  This one is simply punched from scrap inky paper using the Spiky Floral punch.  I love this punch so much and it makes light work of flower making for sure.

I sponged a Quote Chip and layered with a printed ruler that came with a tiny sewing kit.  :)  I tucked a die cut doily in for contrast.

I needed some dimension, so I wrapped my bakers twine around my card three times and formed a loopy bow.  I embossed my dress form image in bronze powder onto a piece of the printed paper.  I sponged the area around the dress forms with both Frayed Burlap and Tattered Rose inks to make the image pop.  I gave this card to my dear friend Bonnie for her birthday and she and I both thought the sponging resembled fabric, weird huh!?  I guess it's the stitched edge.  :)  I hope you like the design and will get your scraps out and play today.

Now onto the winner of my 3rd blogaversary giveaway...

  11. That stamp set has been on my wish list for ages.... I love how you used it in such a beautiful vintage style, the embossed base looks amazing. It is always wonderful to spend time with crafty friends and share! I can remember when Tim first started out, he only ever wanted to use browns, how things have changed (thank goodness!).

  13. I got to peek at this before work today, and your other latest play with Tim's stuff, and I couldn't wait to get back and see them again! Of these two latest, I really can't pick a favorite, but it's so cool to see how you go from grungy to feminine in the blink of an eye! Wait! Isn't that wallpaper??? I need to go have a look at mine. Look at those dress forms! Wow, how pretty in gold embossing! I know you coveted that stamp, and now it's YOU who is the enabler! So exciting to see these backgrounds getting put to use this way! You are a creative genius, my friend! Now I need to go make something frilly! Bonnie must LOVE this birthday card! Sending hugs!
