PLAY!!! That is exactly what I did last night and it felt so so good! Remember, I am celebrating Graciellie Design's August digital stamp release with a chance to win one of Graciellie's digital stamp sets AND a set of printable papers on THIS post. I also have another bee themed project coming atcha on the 15h with another giveaway. But... I wasn't done playing with these images just yet. This handmade sunflower was in my reject/leftover pile because I got carried away when inking the center. I didn't want it to be a focal point in a design. So I was pondering the Mojo Monday sketch, then I saw the lovely Julie's post for AVJ and a light went off. So I flipped the sketch and cut my sunflower in half and tucked each half away in the wonky layers. That gave me the space I needed to showcase the bee! JOY! (The details on making the flower are on my giveaway post.)
I embossed the gorgeous IndigoBlu honeycomb background stamp with walnut stain Distress embossing powder. Same for the scrolly dies by Penny Black.
And while having fun with my new IndigoBlu products, I couldn't help but add some gilding with Megaflake in Chocolate Box. I was going for an extreme juxtaposition of glam and grunge.
How ever did I live without these stamps? That honeycomb! That bee! That sunflower! <3
I mounted her over a pretty acetate die as note to Gracie's tutorial on foiling digital stamps. So cool! Check that out HERE. Trust me when I say a laminating machine is high on my wish list!!! The possibilities are endless! I hope you've enjoyed seeing the Bee Kind stamp set in action and will join me on the 15th for my final project. :)
