Giveaway for Graciellie Designs Fall Digital Stamp Release

card
Today marks the release of Graciellie Design's August release.  Am I ever excited about the stamp set I get to work with!  The Bee Kind set is jam packed with cool sentiments and two amazing images, giving so many options for your project designs.

There are even more fabulous images in Gracie's shop, so do check those out as well.  I am in love with that pumpkin!

When I first saw this set, my mind went directly to my love for creating 3D paper flowers.  I changed the color on the image to brown and cropped the image to just the circular flower.  I then printed three flowers, each 1/4" smaller than the first.

flowers
Next, I used dijon Stampin' Up! ink on my craft mat, spritzed with water, to color each cut flower on both front and back.  To shape the petals, I scored down the center of each one over a mouse pad with a bone folder, then pinched them in half.  The centers were made by gluing tiny Prima Art stones in place, and carefully colored with alcohol ink.

card 3
I used Wild Honey Distress embossing powder over my Tim Holtz die, which I had cut with chipboard.  Some of the extra cutouts were used for fluff and layers.  Curling some petals forward and some petals backward seems to give a more realistic look.

card 4
To convert any of your digital stamps into chalkboard art, simply open the image with Microsoft Paint.  Right click on the image and select "Invert Color."  I used Distress stain in white, and smeared it while wet to get the chalky look.

GIVEAWAY TIME!
I'd love for you to win one of these sets, so please visit each of the designers and leave a comment.  The winner will receive a stamp set of their choice and the new Black and White Patterns Digital Paper Pack.  Woo hoo!

Winners will be announced on August 15 with another hop and another chance to win!  Just wait until you see what I'm up to with this sweet bee!  ;0

  36. Just so pretty-- what can I say? Husband and I are watching the Olympics an we love the stories they share about the players-- we are BOTH weepy from the struggles some of these athletes face... This sentiment got me weepy :) it's awesome, and a beautiful card.

  40. what program did you use to color and crop the flower

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I cropped the flower using Microsoft Paint. Next I inserted it into Word and used the format options to recolor it. Google recoloring photos with Word and there's a great tutorial. Nothing fancy for me! I don't have any special software. Hope this helps and good luck in the draw! - Autumn
