I'm thrilled to be joining the talented design team at Happy Little Stampers this month as guest designer. Even more exciting is the fantastic challenge theme, sprays!
Purple definitely isn't a color that I use often, but spring has set in and given me the fever. My only purple inks were Glimmer Mist sprays, which I picked up for a song at Tuesday Morning. I used a home decor stencil and texture past to create a textured background onto a chipboard book page, then sprayed it with a variety of GM spray ink, letting the colors run together.
I decided to grunge up the edges a little with embossing. I used a super chunky plum colored EP.
You can see how the UTEE bubbles as it heats, a rather unique effect. I used the same powder on the oval frame. The layers of dies were sprayed with my inks to continue the metallic sheen. I layered with purchased flowers, basket filler, and Art Stones, all setting the stage for my Paper Dolls image by Tim Holtz.
For contrast, I embossed this wooden die with white EP. This was a gift from my fabulous friend Niki at Pawsitively Creative. Thanks sweetie!
I adore these sisters and truly enjoyed building this scene.
To finish, I dyed seam binding with my sprays and looped through the book page holes to make a hanger. I hope you are inspired to get out your spray inks and play along. What fun! Thanks to the HLS team for having me this month. <3
This is amazing Autumn, I love all of your special little details. I like purple but find it a hard colour to work with, but this is fabulous, especially your messy bow! xx
