PaperArtsy Lynne Perrella and Kay Carley Glittery Christmas Card

Today I'm sharing my final post for Stamps & Stencils.  It has been such a hard decision, but I feel the need to slow down these days.  Our team lead and lovely hostess Sue has chosen the theme Festive Stamps AND Stencils.  She says, "Now normally to join in with us we ask you use either stamps or stencils, but for this challenge I want to see both and lots of them with a Festive theme! So dig out all your stamps, maybe some long forgotten that need some love and all of your stencils and let them take centre stage!"

I couldn't get enough of the glitter paste as used on the project below which I posted HERE yesterday.  It is so very festive!  Again, I painted greyboard with PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic {Pewter} then stenciled on the gorgeous new holiday PaperArtsy Stencil 067 {by Kay Carley} with BoBunny glitter paste.

I embossed all of my edges with Stampendous Frantage.

My sweet friends Madelyn and Bonnie and I were playing around with the PaperArtsy {Lynne Perrella} Collection (LPC018) images and embossing this lovely lady onto dark colored card.  I really wanted to complete a card as a tribute to our fun times together over the weekend.  The sentiment is fussy cut from PaperArtsy E³ {Sara Naumann} from the Eclectica³ Collection (ESN17), embossed in white onto scrap inky card.

To add interest to the dark portions, I splashed on a mix of Perfect Pearls with water and also watery gesso.  I embossed the edges of this panel the same.  Now, I ran out of time but wanted to share some experiments I made with making my own glitter paste...

I mixed 1/5 of this little vial of glitter with about 1/2 TBSP of soft gloss gel.

I used it on the same type of painted background.  The result was a little lacking.  Not glittery enough and too much clear areas.  I then dumped in that much more glitter to the remaining paste.  You can see below how thick and chunky it is.  It's pretty in its own way, but not at all as elegant as the BoBunny glitter paste.  But I thought it would be fun to share.  I still hope to use these in future projects.  :)

It was so hard to photograph my card, but I hope you enjoyed seeing it and are inspired to play along with our current challenge.  It has been such an honor to work with this team for the last TWO YEARS - wow!  I wish each DT member and the challenge every success.  Hugs, Autumn

  19. Gosh, Autumn, words escape me with this Beauty! It resembles a magnificent old world creation that has been carved out of sparkly granite, but no! It's an incredible oil painting with lots of dimension, but no! It's got a rich fabric quality with jewel and mineral fibers - gosh - it's uniquely Autumn Style, and so so SO gorgeous! Thank you for the tutorial, and the tips. I always learn from you -- and even more -- I marvel at your talent. Thanks the inspiration! hugs, de
