Hello sweet friends! This month there were so many challenge in blog land that inspired me and made me want to create more than ever! What a fabulous way to spend a cool winter day. But since I was super sick last week I felt like I would never accomplish all of my goals, so I sat and watched creative YouTube videos for hours on end and thought up wild ideas of projects I would do...
I was very inspired by the videos on mixed media by Lindy's Stamp Gang, Prima and 13arts. What seemed like the most unproductive week of my life, actually was a very great learning experience and I feel more confident than ever playing with some new techniques. I decided to give this canvas journal I picked up at Old Navy a few years ago a makeover.
I have been so fond of Prima products for many years, but have always found it difficult to find them. Good news, Linda from the Funkie Junkie Boutique has just stocked her shelves with preorders of tons and tons of Prima's best new goods! Way to go Linda!!! Do check it out and fill up your cart!
I had just ordered some fabulous new Prima goods, including this coolest doily stamp, this lovely antique lady and gentlemen stamp, and several Finnabair background stamps (these dots and script are some of them).
So I just played, and played and played. This was so much fun and although it scared me to death, in the end I really liked my journal makeover.
I love the mica powders, the beads, and the overall inky washes. So fun!
My eldest daughter says this is definitely not her favorite thing I've done and it's strange to pile all these goods together this way, but for now I'm loving it and wanting to explore it more. What do you think?
This Victorian stamp just wows me and I love it as the focal point. I think it is the prettiest Valentine image. And I'm always happy to use antique lace in any project, so to me it's a win win.

What a transformation! It looks impressive, so much texture, bits and pieces, what a great job you did putting everything together. I have some small books that need to get a makeover, not canvas, but glitter and kraft ones, they've been on the same spot on my desk for about a year, waiting for me to get inspiration to decorate them. Maybe now is the time...
Oh my goodness Autumn, this is a fabulous transformation. I love the stamped image it's stunning as the focal point and to mix with all those textures and lace is so pretty. Hope your feeling better now.
Hugs, Julie x

Wow Autumn, this is incredible!! I feel the same way about Prima products, I just love them but there's no place around here to buy them. I'm really excited about Linda stocking up on Prima in the store, I'm buying two of everything!! haha!!
Your finished piece is just stunning, I love that lady stamp and the doily too. Your colours work so well together and the microbeads are always an amazing addition to any mixed media piece!! LOVE IT!!!

At least until the next time. :):) I agree, that victorian stamped image is just lovely, and I can see you getting a lot of use out of it. Those colors, that glitter and microbeads...OH MY, I'm in love!

Wow, this is beautiful - I love the layers and the gorgeous textures, and especially the use of the lace and that beautiful central image - just fabulous.
I am just falling more and more and more in love with your art work Autumn. It just seems to me like each project is a step above the last. This is COMPLETELY STUNNING. Of course, I love the Victorian era so that makes me a bit prejudiced in that regard however... it's not just that! It's just the colors and the layers and the glamour. The metal embellishments are perfect. It's just all soooo sooo sooo ENCHANTINGLY BEAUTIFUL. j.
God bless YouTube! Exactly where I go when my mojo ups and leaves. This is a fabulous canvas Autumn. Love the colours and all those layered textures. Jenny x

Oh, I love it, Autumn! Very, very cool! All of the layers and textures... I'd eat it if I could! (Okay, that sounded wierd... I wouldn't really eat it...) but I think it looks awesome. The beads topped it off.
Stunning cover!! Love your composition, and those colors, and the yummy textures!! You-tube certainly inspired you - this is just gorgeous! And so glad to hear Linda is carrying Prima - going to go check that out, as that doily stamp looks fantastic. xxx Lynn

I disagree with your daughter because this design is fantabulous and so layered! Yummy! It's good to get the creative juices flowing and trying new things. Scary, but good! That central image is so marvelous and you showcased it perfectly! Wowzers! Awesome sauce design and details!
