Tim Holtz Scribble Woodlands Christmas Card

I finally squeezed in some time to work on my Week 4 & 5 cards for The Funkie Junkie's 12 Tags of Christmas challenge.  I really loved the way Linda combined the die cut cast off with the actual die cuts on her tag.  This was my main inspiration, but I varied the colors a bit.

I started by cutting the holly branch die in my desired pattern on watercolor paper.  Next I dipped my cast off into Frayed Burlap.  I used a Distress crayon to accentuate the cuts.  I dipped a mat panel into Chipped Sapphire.  I took my holly dies and dipped them in the extra ink.  I dried my blue mat and stamped a tiny Christmas text stamp repeatedly in gold Brilliance ink.  The text showing through the cutouts is my favorite detail on this card!

I was anxious to use this cottage Christmas house from Tim's new Scribble Woodlands stamp set.  I stamped it in Chipped Sapphire and tore a straight line across, then fussy cut the top.  I used a BoBunny faux stitch stamp to add the stitching to "piece" my layers together.  A simple loopy bow, the dies, and a jingle bell completed my embellishment.  I added the jingle bell because of the beautiful baubles Linda used.  Thanks Linda for the inspiration!

Wow, who'd think that blue and brown would make a good Christmas card, but it makes a beautiful Christmas card when Autumn does it! The more I see that stamp set, the more I love it. My favorite part is also the text under the holly dies - so striking! Love your finishing touches with that beautiful bow, twine and jingle bell. Love love love it!

Bravissimo! I love this... saw it originally on Insta, and bow having a closer look, I am enamored. I love the way the sentiment also has the inky look on watercolor paper. And way to use the die to ut out the background.

I'm sorry it's taken me a couple of weeks to stop by to see this beauty up close and personal. I've seen it pinned numerous times on Pinterest. It is fantastic! I absolutely adore everything about it. I have always loved that forest cottage stamp but sometimes had a hard time using it. Love the way you cut it out and overlaid it on the card. My favorite part is the blue panel with the gold script under your holly cut outs. All in all, just a drop dead beauty! Thanks so much for linking up to The 12 Tags of Christmas Funkie Junkie Style!

Hugs,
Linda

The metallic text and sapphire background showing through the cutouts is my favorite part of your card, too! The frayed burlap cutout really grabbed my attention initially, as well. Great composition!

How gorgeous. I love that gilded script in the background, just peeking through the holly leaf cuts, and the cottage makes a wonderful focal image. I've had that same little house for years as an Artistic Outpost stamp, but now I've seen Tim's in real life (a lovely card from Redanne) I realise it's considerably larger (the AO one fits on an ATC beautifully). I hope I don't find I "need" this one too now!!
