Embossing Backgrounds with Watercolor and 3D Flowers

card 1
I am thrilled to be sharing a card for the challenge reminder post at IndigoBlu today. The challenge them is teal and brown.  I took liberty and used copper as my brown, embossing this beautiful scroll repeatedly.  I thought I used my Peacock Feathers Distress Ink pad for the teal.  The background was made by gluing two sheets of book page to heavy card, then brushing on watery gesso.  After dried, I mixed the DI with water and dipped the panel into it.  I dipped a couple of other pieces for the flowers.

card 2
I decided to change up my 3D flower from THIS card by adding a charm and bow in the middle, whatcha think?  This simply stamped card was made with love to strengthen my faith after a rough week.  I am so thankful for this promise...

Love how the gesso makes the ink float rather than become solid as it absorbs - gives a totally different look to your fabulous background. A beautiful card Autumn.

that peacock color is gorgeous, Autumn! It naturally goes with the jeweled coppery metal flowing throughout your masterpiece. I'm taken by your background with the multiple images showing through the inking. I hope you enjoy a great week! hugs, de

Autumn...this is such a lovely card! I, like everyone else, love the copper flourish against the teal background. Very pretty. Love the book text peeking out behind the teal as well and the dimensional teal flower you have as your focal point is truly lovely. Thanks for sharing your talent with all of us at Creative Carte Blanche.

Just gorgeous, Autumn! I so love your book pages background. Thanks for your blog post; that Scripture is a favorite of mine. My one little word this year is "untroubled" and that verse is my key verse. ;-)

This is truly one of my favorites creations of yours, Autumn! That was a great idea to use copper as your brown and it's perfect with Peacock Feathers :-) Your stamp of choice (and application) is wonderful. I do love how your flower turned out - it still has dimension since you layered it and added the charm and bow. Just total deliciousness!!!
