Topflight Stamps Blog Hop Winner & Darkroom Door Card

I hope you all are doing well.  I'm having some creative play in the evenings when the kids are excited about finishing online school for the day.  What are you doing to keep yourself entertained?  I had some fun making this card with one of my favorite ever Darkroom Door eclectic stamps and the new Crazy Enough quote stamp.  This sentiment is just perfect for times like these!  Ha!  I used Twitsted Citron and Faded Jeans with some blue embossing powder and washi tape.

Stampin Up Parisian Forever Blossoms Cards

A quick post before Sale-A-Bration ends to share a trio of cards I made with the Forever Blossoms stamps and dies.  If you purchase this set before March 31, you can pick one free item from the Sale-A-Bration collection.

I decided to stamp an entire sheet of 8x5x11 paper with the cherry blossoms in Night of Navy to make my own toile pattern.  I cut the panel into four card fronts.

I used sentiments from Good Morning Magnolia embossed in white onto Stitched So Sweetly dies.  I used a different orientation for each card and added a different color way too.  This first one was sponged with Call Me Clover.

The second and all of the flowers were sponged with Crushed Curry.  The final card was left white and I saved my fourth piece for a future design.  So which is your favorite?

If you order through these links please select demonstrator Carol Lee in SC, who has graciously shared her stamps and inks with me.  I hope you're feeling inspired to make some patterned paper of your own.  Hugs, Autumn

Topflight Stamps Birthday Blog Hop

It's Topflight Stamps 3rd birthday and to celebrate, I’ve teamed up with some great designers to showcase birthday cards using the unique products available at TopflightStamps.com. Please hop along with us and see all the beautiful talent from this group of amazing designers! You should have arrived here from the Jenny Marples' blog. If not, no worries, catch the details below. Follow along here and if you get lost you can always start at the Topflight Stamp Blog

I made a pair of card featuring lots of lovely stamps by Darkroom Door. I started by inking a watercolor panel with my stash of Distress Stains that hadn't seen any use in a long while.

I was able to get two cards from my panel.

For the first I used the Bottles stamp set and filled it with blossoms from the Warm Wishes stamp set.  To create some contrast, I used texture paste with the Handwritten Script stencil.  The tiny tag came from the Warm Wishes set and the yellow sentiment is from the Happy Birthday sentiment strip stamp.  I used another portion of this sentiment on a second card.  I stamped the Garden Birds and watercolored one to coordinate.  I added some transparent embossing powder over the still wet Distress Stains for contrast, then stamped the Dots eclectic stamp on the background and embossed the Happy Birthday in white for contrast.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Here's the hop list:

Darkroom Door Majestic Mountains Stamp Mask Card

During times of uncertainty, I find the seeds of the Word of God, planted long ago, coming to mind to fill my heart with assurance and my spirit with comfort.  Isaiah 54:10 has been coming to me again and again.  It reminded me of the beautiful graphic for this month's Darkroom Door Facebook Challenge.  I had the idea to use my embossing pen to add the scripture.

Here are the basic steps. I stuck three sticky notes down onto my glass mat and stamped the largest two Majestic Mountains stamps across the notes.  Next, I covered the notes with long strips of packing tape and cut the ridge away from the sky.  This made me a more permanent stencil and mask that I can use again for future projects.  I sponged the sky using Distress Oxides in Dusty Concord and Stormy Sky.  Then I stamped the back mountains in Watering Can Archival ink.  I sponged them with more Stormy Sky.  I continued to stamp more mountains in black using my masks/stencils.  I tapped the above mentioned inks and Tumbled Glass onto my mat and then watercolored the mountains.  I used the leftover ink and a bit of water to splash the design.  Finally, I dried the panel very well and dusted it with an embossing buddy/powder so I could emboss my scripture.

I chose my favorite portion of the 5.5x8" panel and cut it square.  I cut the Prayers die from the leftovers.  I added more stamped and embossed trees along the bottom.

I plan to use the next few weeks to send out cards to those I love.  I am the worlds worst at making cards and not sending them.  I am so thankful for this extra time to get caught up.

Happy St. Patrick's Day from SewPaperPaint!

Hi my friends!  Just a quick post to wish you a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!  I know that many of our festivities are cancelled, but I hope to enjoy a fun evening with the family and am using my extra time to craft.  I made this card for the Tim Holtz Addicts FB group challenge: #timholtzstpatricks2020

My back layer was made by stamping Perfect Plaids with Gathered Twigs and Mowed Lawn and spritzing to let the color fade here and there.  For the top layer I embossed the number "17" from Tim's Numerals stamp set over a background made with the same inks and the Distress Damask stamp also done in multi-color stamping.  I cut a mound of  Wildflower 2 greenery and adhered it beneath a banner I stamped with one of Tim's clear word sets.  I stamped a border across the top with his Ornate Trims.  Wishing you a safe and happy week, Autumn

Darkroom Door Backgrounds and Sentiments Card Bundle

Hi friends!  Today I'm sharing a few cards made with Darkroom Door stamps, available at TopflightStamps.com.   Up first is an easel card made with the Stars background stamp and the Look for the Stars quote stamp.  I embossed the stars in white and blended Distress Inks over them for a resist.  Then I watercolored stripes with Distress Inks and dried the panel completely.  I went back over each stripe with a hand drawn line using the Ranger Ink embossing pen and white embossed.  I stamped the quote in Distress Inks and quickly clear embossed to tie in with all the embossing.

For my next card, I embossed the Fun Flowers background stamp in pink and sponged Black Soot Distress Oxide over it for another resist effect.  I embossed the Wonderful quote stamp and grunged up the edges, finishing off with some vintage trim.

For my last card, I used the Stars background stamp again, only partially stamping it in Iced Spruce Distress Oxide.  I embossed the Cupcake eclectic stamp in white and used Weathered Wood, Walnut Stain and Festive Berries Distress Inks for my watercolor.  I gave the background of the tag a wash with more Iced Spruce DOX.  The sentiment comes from Birthday sentiment strip stamp, which has so many options for specialized sentiments.  I finished off with a dyed seam binding bow and a few coordinating sequins.  Fun times!
