Prima Zella Teal Foil Resist Shabby Card

Happy Valentine's Day dear readers!  I have the pleasure of hosting our current challenge at Frilly & Funkie and I've chosen the theme Dare to Resist.  For the next two weeks, as we break away from our Valentine creations, we'd love to see you incorporate a favorite resist technique in your vintage or shabby chic project.  There are so many options, perhaps you will try something new.  Whether it be gesso resist, Vaseline resist, alcohol resist, embossing resist, or watercolor resist, we dare you to resist!

I chose to use the beautiful Zella Teal 6x6 pad from Prima.  I created my resist with foiling.  First, I cut a portion of the Christine Adolph Adhesive Rub-Ons, also by Prima and burnished it onto a square of Ranger Alcohol Ink Cardstock.  Next, I applied the teal foil from the Ranger Shiny Foil Transfer Sheets over the adhesive design.

I added some watery Distress Inks puddles and splashes using Black Soot and Cracked Pistachio.  I distressed the edges, then sponged them.

I love how the foil pops through the ink!  I embellished with the foiled images from the Zella Teal Ephemera pack.  I layered a marbled Prima flower with a die cut doily by Tim Holtz and a Friendship word.  I embossed the Detailed Butterfly to coordinate.  The seam binding was dyed with Distress Inks and gifted to me by my friend Carol.  <3  You can see I cut portions of Vinice Lace and tucked in the torn areas of my foiled paper layer.

I hope you're inspired to play along with our Dare to Resist challenge for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the Funkie Junkie Boutique.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

SWOONING! Your teal and metallic palette makes my heart flutter! What a CLEVER resist technique, totally new to my eyes! I am going to have to try that, but have never heard of those adhesive rub ons. I guess the same could be achieved with the glue stick through a favorite stencil. You've got me itching to steal some time to craft today...sigh! Your embossed butterfly steals the show, as well as each of your various shades of trims/textiles. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE<3!

Hi Jackie, this is an old powder by PSX that is no longer available. It is kind of a mixed color powder with flecks of red. :)
