HERE, so do pop over if you'd like a refresher. During the class I started this one and it has sat on my desk for weeks, waiting to be finished. I had forgotten where I was going with it. Does anyone else do things like that? Well, I came across my initial sketch and was reminded. I peeled my canvas back a tad too much, so I used texture paste on the wood frame and colored it with the same watercolors. I sprayed the background images's edges with Glimmer Mist to help it blend in.
This wooden chippie got a makeover with gold, copper, and Distress tea stain embossing powders. I love the variegated look! That beautiful scrunchy paper in the background looks like handmade paper, but is simply mop up paper. I had some left over Lumiere paint on my table and mixed it with water so I could cover a scrap of manilla. I scrunched it up over and over while it was wet and the shimmer went deeply into the cracks. I will be intentionally making this again!
Printables. I really had fun with this. And I would love to feature your project on my blog if you've created a canvas from my tutorial. Just leave me a comment. <3
