Hello my lovelies! Today begins our newest challenge for Stamps & Stencils. Our fabulous host Rachel has chosen the theme "Spring is in the Air!" Rachel says, "I want you to think about what the coming of spring means to you? Is it a colour burst, or maybe flowers? Whatever it is I would like you to show us in a mixed media piece including stamping or stenciling or both!" What an awesome challenge with unlimited creative options. I decided to do a combination of digital stamps, rubber stamping, and stenciling! I'm celebrating with Gracie and her recent launch of Graciellie Designs Digital Shop. Details and and giveaway can be found on THIS post.
"So let us know, let us press on to know the LORD. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; And He will come to us like the rain, Like the spring rain watering the earth." Hosea 6:3 NASB There are so many emotions behind this page in my altered board game book. Both the sorrow in life and the hope of God's promises...
I have had the most fun playing with the flowers in this set, called Dear Friend (the price point of $4 is fabulous by the way). Here I coated my flowers with glossy Mod Podge to add contrast to the matte background. I curled the petals and layered them "Jolee" style. I added hot glue "raindrops and drips throughout.
I started this page by stenciling my Tim Holtz stripe stencil horizontally, but changed direction once I developed the watercolor. I have found my passion, and it is building layers and puddles with watercolor! I cannot get enough...
I added a Tim Holtz stamp in mustard ink for contrast and some washi tape and black stamping along the side to somewhat frame the text.
Closeups of the rain and flower dimension. More stamping in the background. And then I couldn't let the scrap from the digital image go to waste, so I punched circles and created a border. FUN! I hope you've enjoyed this rather unconventional page. I'm looking forward to seeing your challenge entries! Also, if you pay Gracie a visit - let her know if you enjoyed my collage. <3

beautiful work Autumn - that flower is stunning - as is the colour and the layers - beautiful work as always! Hugs rachel x
Stunning! Such peace in that scripture. I think that's why I love the rain so much, and we haven't had any for far too long. It seems to wash all the ick, literally and emotionally, away. What a gorgeous canvas, girl! Love the dimension and soft palette, and those hot glue drips are pure genius! LOVE!
Autumn, This is an incredible piece. I love the colours, the paint splatters and the dimension achieved with the flowers.

Saw this gem on IG and had to have a closer lookey lou! So glad I popped over because this is stunninf! Wowzers on the layers and 3D effect with the flowers! Sure does make you think of Spring and running in the rain, only to stop and play in a mud puddle. Okay, maybe that's just what I think of. Hehe! Marvelous design and again with the magnifique textures! Hugz ~Niki

Ok. I'm good now. The depth of your layering is sheer perfection. I wish I had half the talent that you contain in your pinky finger.
Oh this is simply gorgeous! Just love the colours and texture. I also really LOVE the idea of an altered board game book (like many of us, I have a stack of scrabble sets waiting to be "played" with too, as well as my deluxe version for playing the actual game with, lol!).
