Tim Holtz Stamps and Dies Valentine Cards

Happy Valentine's Day weekend friends!  It has been ages since I had a good play with my Tim Holtz products, so this post is gonna be a doozy!  Lol!  Grab a cuppa...  I absolutely LOVE making Valentine cards and LOVE making inky backgrounds.  I actually have about a hundred or so in a basket by my chair and decided to have a sit down and try to turn some of them into cards.  The result was five Valentine cards in one sitting!  It was such fun and I really enjoyed this fresh bit of mojo returning.  Up first, I did a layering with Dots & Circles and Newsprint & Type.  I used the Numeric stamps for my focal point, framed with the Stacked Postage die.  I tucked in a Crochet lace strip and finished with a twine bow and sticker sentiments.  The cancellations are from Tim's Holiday Postmarks.

Next, I used one of my favorite background stamps ever, Tim's Ornate & Lace, paired with the new Brushstroke Flowers #1 dies.  I layered some cut up inky pieces stamped with Ledger & Script to make tags, adding little mica hole reinforcers.  I used Tim's alphabets for the focal point, with another piece of mica layered atop.

My next card also featured Ornate & Lace with gold embossing.  I embossed the moth from Geo Insects to coordinate and used tiny alphas for the sentiment.

This card was made with Oxides for the background with the Gothic Stencil, with a focal image from the Lady Rose stamp set.   I finished it with the Crochet die and a banner from the Sketch stamp set, in which I stamped one of Tim's sentiments.

My final card was an inky background from Aged Mahogany, Ripe Persimmon  and Raspberry, which I embossed with the new Engraved 3D embossing folder.  I sanded a piece of gold Kraft Core card and cut the Faceted Heart die.  I finished with a sentiment from the Shadow Script #1 set and an embossed Adorned die to coordinate.  These were so much fun to create and I hope they've inspired you to have a go at using up some of your backgrounds today.  Happy Valentine's Day and hugs, Autumn

Autumn, Would you please be my Valentine? Positively lovely sample as, one after another. May I please ask how you created mica hole reinforcers? Gratefully, Mary, Holtzaholic

Hello Mary! I will absolutely be your Valentine. <3 The hole reinforcers were actually purchased that way (many years ago). I imagine you could punch mica circles with circles inside to make some if you have any sheet mica. Just separate the layers to make it thin enough to punch. Thanks for your sweet comment! Hugs, Autumn

Sorry so late, Autumn, trying to catch up after Texas fell apart from that winter storm, lol. Wow, where do I begin? Magnificent stash of Valentines you have made! Even though I'm not into those faceted dies, I'd have to say the last one is my fave. The silver heat-embossing around the dry-embossed layer is fab! And I love the vellum as backdrop for the Love sentiment too. XOX
