Coffee Lovers Vintage Winter Card

card 1

Hello my lovely bloggy friends!  I have so missed you, but been super busy with both Christmas, planning a sweet 16 for this sweetie on the right, and with getting these two ready for a semi-formal dance at school - WHEW!  Let's say that today, I REALLY enjoyed my coffee, and am going to stay in my PJs and drink coffee and create all day today - this mama's tired!  I do have a coffee themed card to share with you today and some ideas for making your own digi images.  I really wanted to do an altered style or grungy coffee card this time, but couldn't find just the right image, so I typed out these words and drew the little banner around them to create my own "digi stamp."  The coffee cup is an online image that I sized and printed.

girls

I colored the images by dipping them in Distress Ink, then highlighting with colored pencils.  I layered the coffee image over a coffee filter doily from a MFT die.

card 2

I cut the Tim Holtz wishes die from a cool scrap from a project gone bad.  I loved the embossing along the bottom, like snow.  I layered it over another scrap of inky paper.

card 3

I used this gorgeous piece of vintage Basic Grey paper, which I've almost used up - boo!  Then I added some TH holly dies and a little brad on each side for the berry.  :)  To see all my Coffee Loving Cards click HERE.

Lovely ladies! How proud you must be!! And what a beautiful card. I love that when you couldn't find exactly what you wanted, you created your own digis. Brilliant! Really pretty and Christmassy card. Bev

Love the colors on this card - the angled plaid background is perfect behind your wonderful inked and colored coffee cup - and the added touches of the die cut holly and snowy sentient strip really make it festive! Thanks for joining us in the A Vintage Journey, Autumn - (and your daughters are beautiful!) Julia xx

Oh, I bet you ARE tired! I'm exhausted trying to keep up with you! I hope the Sweet 16 went off without a hitch, and the girls do look lovely in their formal wear! Look at those heels! Whew!

As for this lovely card...it is indeed beautiful with the brilliant colors and cleaver use of less than desirable passed projects. I love the snowy look on the wishes tag; prime reason to never through anything out when it comes to crafting! That vintage paper is a real hit with me, and I can see why you are sad to see the last of it go. Great idea to use a coffee filter to make your doily! Fabulous make! I hope you are getting some well deserved rest! I don't know how you do it! Hugs!
