Viva La Verve August Week Three Grace Card

card 1
My card for August's Week 3 sketch using my favorite Verve stamp, Grace.  I am feeling a little behind, coming off of vacation and catching up with my job, home, back to school, etc.  So I skipped a few of the sketches and jumped back in with this one.  I really love this sketch!

card 2
I chose to work on some Prima watercolor paper and layered with Sizzex dies and a SU! doily.  I stamped the Verve Grace sentiment in Worn Lipstick Distress Ink, then stamped again in black.  I thought it was a funky look to go with this really unusual paper.
card 3
I sponged a bit of the Worn Lipstick ink onto the edges of the label die and tag and completely over the butterfly die.
card 4
I decided to stamp this cool Verve circle (flower) stamp and create a background for the tag using Memories Soft Leaf.  I loved the interest it added!
card 5
I finished with some twine and mounted onto a white card.  I'm linking up to this month's VLV challenge HERE.

SU Watercolor Wings Birthday Card for Mom

card 1
I celebrated my Mother's birthday yesterday and made this card for her with  my new Stampin' Up! set, Watercolor Wings.  Happy birthday mom!
card 2
I layered Worn Lipstick, then Victorial Velvet, then Frayed Burlap Distress Inks to create this butterfly.
card 3
I added a SU! doily, some layers of Authentique pinks and MME gold dots papers with some circles, pearl dots, and amazing gold washi tape (didn't show up well in photo -  but super cool and from AC Moore).
card 4
I've been trying some of the new styles I see out, so yes this is different for me.  But it was fun and part of the joy of stamping is in trying new things.  Thanks mom for letting me experiment with your birthday card!  ;0  I'm linking up to House of Cards for the Metallic theme HERE.

Autumn Color and a Rusty Fall Card

card 1
It's almost Autumn and I am always inspired by fall colors, especially rust!  I created this sweet card using a Stampers Anonymous stamp and some lovely layered papers.  Somehow this little girl reminds me of myself...
card 2
My mom and I have a fall card day scheduled for next Saturday and this card just puts me in the mood!  To color the image I used DTP with Chalk Inks and stamped in black over it.
card 3
So what's your favorite color?  Head over to Allsorts and share your crafty creation...

Studio on the Go Journaling at the Beach

journal page
I was so blessed to be able to create some new journal pages while we were in Edisto last week.  This was the view of the coastal marsh behind our place.
edisto 5
Alligators and turtles roaming freely, along with happy little children on bicycles...
edisto 6
The turtles loved to line up on that lone fallen tree.
edisto 1
I promptly set up my little studio on the patio.
edisto 2
I tried to take very little, so my on the go art kit included a bag of stencils, a bag of inks and sprays, and a small container of paints and gesso with a couple of brushes.  Coffee is always included in my art kit!  ;0

The first day I woke up at 6:30 and spent several hours just pouring paint onto my file folder journal.
Edisto
The rest of the time we spent in the pool or here, just being happy.  What a lovely week...  I came home last night and worked on finishing my pages from the beach and will be sharing them with you just as soon as I can get some photography done.
journal page 2
This is the only page I finished at the beach.  The feather and stripes are stencils I made.  I had a happy accident while making these pages.  I had some florescent paint from the 90's - yeah I'm old! - and it had almost congealed.  So I used it as stencil paste and slathered it onto my pages.  It was neon yellow, but turned a cool shade of yellow-green when it dried.  (Don't look too hard or you might find a mosquito dried in there!)  Thanks for stopping by, hope you feel more relaxed now just looking at these images.  :)  I'm linking up to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Citrus with a Twist HERE.
