Grace Fall Leaf Bundle Distressed Vintage Card

Yesterday was so dreary and the fall chill (and pile of beautiful papers left on my table from the fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop) were calling me.  I picked up this awesome new adhesive glittered ribbon on clearance at AC Moore and really wanted to use it on a fall card.  The stripes across the week 1 Viva la Verve sketch seemed a perfect fit.  Now, this card would be so beautiful if I did the sentiment in TH's new foils, but the stores were closed and I just went with it, but can you imagine?  I tried embossing it in brown glitter, but you couldn't read the words in this thin lined sentiment...  

So funny that it really feels like fall and none of the leaves have turned...

Anyway, I thought about waiting on my new Verve stamps to arrive, but decided that I love this Grace stamp so much and it would fit beautifully.  I punched one of the leaves from the ribbon and the others from scrap CS, then sponged the edges lightly and mounted in a bundle.

I used the end of an awl to curl the papers like this, something I picked up from flower making.  Similarly, you could use a toothpick or the end of a thin paint brush.  I love those curls and tears!

Tim Holtz October 2015 Ombre Altered Tag

 I was so excited to play with my Distress Inks and make an ombre project this month!  I don't celebrate Halloween, so this will constitute as my Tim Holtz tag of October.  I did follow several of his processes.  I  inked my tag in sections in puddles of Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers, and Blueprint Sketch Distress Inks.  Then I stamped the dots in each corresponding color.  The flower stamp is a favorite that I use to give "texture."

I added one of Tim's sentiment dies that I cut from "ink clean up paper" and some torn, dyed fabric and washi tape.

 I stamped this pretty woman by Stampington to give contrast and stamped the die cut butterflies with the flower stamp.  I added a funky flower with a DIY Button Brad and some twine and charms.

 Lastly, I added some faux stitching with an amazing BoBunny stamp set and some DIY tattered and torn ribbon.

Monster Birthday Bash Child's Party Invitation

 I made this sweet monster birthday party invitation using a stamp by Paper Makeup that I have had for years and never put to use.  He is ADORABLE!  I decided to try my hand at coloring and used Prismacolor pencils.  I layered with some cute Crate Paper designer paper and a vellum doily.

World Card Making Day Pink and Black Birthday Card

 Happy World Card Making Day!  I'm celebrating over at Simon Says Stamp and thought I'd share a bright happy card with these fun layering floral stamps.  I downloaded THIS free printable to use as my sentiment, and paired it with some striped paper.  I used Faded Lipstick Distress Ink and Green Galore SU! Ink with black for a unique look.  I had to throw a doily in there.  Easy peasy!

Tall Skinny Latte Fall Coffee Card

Tall and Skinny - just the way I like my lattes, so how fun was it to play with this week's Mojo Monday sketch and THESE adorable freebies from Verve Stamps.  This week has really been a blast and I have enjoyed the fellowship with other card makers more than I can say.  One of my absolute favorites along the way was THIS card, with another cool freebie.  Unfortunately, I don't have a way to use the cutting file.  Yet, I couldn't get away from the concept so I decided to apply it to this cool sketch.  I inserted each image into Publisher and layered them into groups, then glued the paper onto manila cardstock and cut out each stack.  I watercolored them with SU! Really Rust, and Distress Inks in Frayed Burlap, Mustard, and Peeled Paint.  I gave a splash of Walnut Stain at the end to grunge it up a bit more.

The dotty paper is an all time favorite by BoBunny and the stripes are by G45.  I wasn't going to add bling for the dots in the design and decided to do a group of distressed tears instead, but in the end I added the bling...  I do love those tears though!

For the stripe across the card I added a bundled bow of pumpkin twine.  The sentiment was colored with a puddle of Really Rust ink and the edges were torn and tattered too.
