Distress Oxide Rainbow Art by Marlene Zig Zag Tag Book

Hi friends!  I hope you're having a very happy January!  I've had a couple of days to play and created a couple of very bright projects!  I created this rainbow card with my mom on New Year's Eve using some older Art by Marlene stamps, Birthday Bash from Marlene's World.  I added in some small stamps from her Advent calendar (white triangles and happy word in the background).  It was a lot of fun!

To create the background I dipped a Bristol panel into watered (not too watery) Distress Oxides.  I used Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade and Broken China (this one was regular Distress Ink).  I was able to stamp the blowfish directly onto the background and watercolor him with markers.

I used a white paint pen to add some highlights to the stamping/coloring.  I fussy cut the banner and mounted it to have some extra white in the design.

It was so much fun that I decided next I would make an inky little tag book using my new Marlene's Mix It Up Mini Zig Zag Journal Dies (ABM-MUC-CD417).  I followed the same dipping process with the front and back of the tag book, also cut from Bristol card.  I used Distress Oxides in Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade and Broken China, Twisted and Shaded Lilac and Picked Raspberry in Distress Ink (to get a brighter/more vibrant pink).

I used Marlene's Back to Nature Bugs Life stamp set (ABM-BTN-STAMP151).  I stamped the bugs onto the tag book, then again onto plain Bristol to watercolor with markers.  I fussy cut them and adhered them back in place.

I added some white embossed flowers using the Mixed Up Collection Blooming Good stamp set (ABM-MUC-STAMP284).

And here's the back side of my finished book.  I hope it makes you smile today!  Thanks for visiting!  Check out all of my Art by Marlene projects HERE.  xx, Autumn

I only recently discovered the Art by Marlene stamps, and love them - these are two fabulous projects Autumn - I must look into that die set... we do have a local (NZ) supplier of her stamps.
Blessings
